Hi. I'm JP

I’m an expert ACT tutor.

Since 2009, I’ve helped hundreds of students maximize their scores.

I’m primarily a 1-on-1 private tutor, but I want to help more students, especially homeschoolers (my kids are homeschooled).

So I’m offering a 8-Week Prep Course that’ll get you ready for the April ACT.

Here's What You'll Learn

A Game Plan

Each section has its quirks. You need a specific game plan for each section. I’ll show you exactly how you should approach each one.

Timing & Pacing

Since the ACT is a timed test, the key to a top score is pacing yourself. I’ll show you exactly how to keep pace most efficiently.

Math & Grammar Rules

There’s no getting around knowing math formulas and grammar rules. I’ll show you exactly which ones you need to know.

And more, including...

Student Success (Private Tutoring)

My son Jayden's 2nd ACT results.

When Jayden turned 13, he took an official ACT. He scored a 32. You can watch our video about it here. A year later, he took the test again. Here are his results!

Frequently Asked Questions

The Prep Course begins on February 10th (Monday) at 7pm. We’ll be meeting online via Zoom. Each session runs for 2 hours from 7pm-9pm EST.

The Prep Course will meet each Monday and Thursday at 7pm for 8 weeks, ending on April 3rd (Thursday).

It depends. Now, I know that this isn’t the most satisfactory answer, but it’s the truth.

It depends on the baseline score. The lower the score, the more you can improve. For instance, if you’re already scoring a 30, there isn’t as much room for improvement as someone who’s scoring a 20.

It also depends on how much you practice and how well you implement the tactics and strategies. What I can guarantee is that those tactics and strategies are proven, time-tested, and (in my experience) the best you can find.

That said, this is a class, not private tutoring. In general, my private tutoring students have seen greater improvement because the instruction is tailored to each of them. If you’re interested in private tutoring, click here.

The course is mainly for sophomores and juniors in high school, but anyone who’s wanting to take the ACT can take the course. My son took the test at 13, and then again at 14, so those ages are appropriate as well.

As many times as you need to get the score you want. Many colleges accept super scores, which are the averages of the best section scores across all of the tests you’ve taken. Thus, it is in your best interest to take as many as you need. Most schools won’t know how many times you’ve taken the test, so don’t let that keep you from doing so.

Yes. This is a great course to get familiar with the ACT, even if you’re not going to take it right away. In fact, even if you are taking the test this time around, you should continue to apply the things you’ve learned as you prepare for future ACT exams.

I’ve run my own tutoring business since 2009. I’ve had multiple brick-and-mortar tutoring centers. In addition, I’ve been a private tutor traveling from home to home. Since Covid, most of my tutoring has gone online. However, I enjoy tutoring in person because it gives me more of an opportunity to get to know students and their families. Going forward, the plan is to offer more in-person classes.

I mention these things to say that I am not simply a tutor fresh out of school who’s looking for a part-time job. No disrespect to Kaplan and Princeton Review and the like, but that's usually who they hire.

Owning my own tutoring company and having all of the results fall on my shoulders motivate me to provide my students with the highest of quality and care possible. Your results and satisfaction have a direct impact on my success.

A trusted resource to help students prepare for a successful future.
