Online 8-Week ACT Prep Course for April 2025 – Register by February 3rd. Learn More
Getting started is easy.
Getting started early is essential. My son took his ACT in 8th grade. Your child doesn’t have to start that early, but he/she should begin preparing in 9th grade.
Step one
1.
Let’s talk. The earlier you begin, the better your chances. At the very least, you’ll come away with lots of answers it might take you hours to find on your own.
- Get to know each other
- Get advice
- Bring a past test for evaluation
- No test? Take a Diagnostic
- Set target scores
- Ask any questions
Step two
2.
My favorite part. I get to work with your child and help him or her identify weaknesses, strengthen them through deliberate practice, and be ready come test time.
- 1 - 1.5 hr sessions
- Meeting 1-2 times per week
- Assignments between sessions
- Tips and strategies
- Deliberate practice
- Accountability
STEP THREE
3.
By the time your student takes the test, he/she will be better prepared than most students. He or she will have a game plan & confidence to do well.
- Game plan for test day
- Better prepared than most
- Register two months in advance
- Take the test multiple times
- Ace the exam
- Apply to colleges/scholarships

Getting Started - For New Clients
I suggest having a 30-minute consultation with me over Zoom. It’s free! This is our chance to figure out if we are a good match. Any and all previous ACT/SAT scores should be sent to me before the consultation. That way I can give you my best recommendations. If your student has not taken one, we’ll need to schedule a diagnostic exam. Both student and parent are encouraged to ask any questions.
If, after our meeting, you decide to continue with tutoring, schedule the date and time of the first session. The proposed time slot is not held until you commit to continuing. If the student has not taken a test, a diagnostic exam should be taken before our first session. I will send you a copy of the test and instructions on how to submit answers.
Once the test is complete and the first session is scheduled, choose your hourly pack (8, 12, or 16 hours), and pay before the first session. A time slot will not be kept for a client who is not willing to make this commitment. Again, any of these packs, once chosen and paid for, is non-refundable.
