I help parents guide their children towards success!

You can be confident about where your children will go to college and how you’ll afford it.

My Vision

To be a trustworthy source for helping families educate their children.

I have teenagers of my own, so I know the wishes and worries of parents who want their children to be educated well. I teach my students like I do my own children.

My Mission

To use test prep to help students build their own mission.

Say what you will about standardized testing, it is a necessary rite of passage for those who plan to attend college and graduate school. That said, test prep is a tool I use to help students become better at thinking and making sound decisions quickly, something I hope will help them as they pursue greater things.

My son Jayden's 2nd ACT results.

When Jayden turned 13, he took an official ACT. He scored a 32. You can watch our video about it here. A year later, he took the test again. Here are his results!

About JP

Here's what you'll get by working with me.

Results

Having taught so many students, I've learned how to quickly identify weaknesses and teach them exactly what they need to know. It's not surprising that most of my students score a 30+ on the ACT.

Best Strategies

Wisdom would say there are no shortcuts in life. True. But with the ACT, SAT, & CLT, shortcuts are indispensable. With them in hand, my students are better prepared than most students on test day.

All Subjects

I teach all subjects of the ACT, SAT, & the CLT. No need to find several tutors, one for English and Reading, another for Math, and another for Science. I cover all the subjects.

Tailored Program

Though I think a class can be helpful, the best and quickest way to learn and improve is through private tutoring. I focus strictly on your student's weaknesses, helping him or her maximize scores with efficiency.

Accountability

Sometimes, you can't figure it out on your own. Some students can, but most can't, even top students. Scheduled meeting times and assignments keep students accountable to put in the work necessary to score well.

Mentorship

I care more about my students than their scores. Thus, I try to give advice about college, careers, and life. It's not unusual for me to keep in touch with my students even into their college years and beyond.

“My son attends a private High School and his expectation and goal is to score high in his SAT’s. With JP's assistance we feel that he did better having JP tutor him than not having him at all. My son took the test last week and once he was done he said mom it was hard. But, I feel confident he also said mom there was some things Justus said/taught me that appeared and made me say wow this is the answer. Thank you JP. I will follow up with the results.”

“I worked with JP for SAT review and it dramatically improved my score and overall understanding as well as problem solving ability. Within weeks the problems became much easier to solve and my test-taking skills had improved. He is very patient, extremely organized and able to work with your individual needs. It was an extremely beneficial and enjoyable experience. I would highly recommend him to anyone in need of SAT tutoring or basic review.”

“I have been working with JP for almost a year now. His practice makes perfect technique is tedious, but worth it. He really focuses on identifying your weakness and finding ways to improve it. His methods are efficient and easy to pick up, especially his essay outline, which is simple, but very effective.”

“JP is extremely knowledgeable and well prepared...I highly recommend him as a tutor for your child regardless of how well the student will score they will at least be prepared going in. It’s up to them to do the homework and spend the time preparing to increase their chances of succeeding.”

"I would, without the slightest hesitation, recommend JP as an excellent SAT tutor. I recommended him to a colleague whose son needed tutoring and she was just as impressed."

Here's how to get started.

Step ONE

1. Schedule a Consultation.

Let’s talk. I want to know how I can help. If you have previous test scores, send them over. The more information I have, the better I can serve you. The goal of this meeting is to give you the best advice to help you achieve your goals.

STEP TWO

2. Begin Tutoring.

We have to set some goals and targets. Once we’re on the same page about the details, we begin the tutoring sessions. In general, I meet with students once or twice per week for 1 to 1.5 hours per session.

Step three

3. Rock the Test!

The practice tests your child takes leading up to the official test will give us a pretty good idea how he/she will do. At this point, your child has prepared well, and there’s nothing left to do but rock the test!
